Five BUCS games this Wednesday

All the Heriot-Watt teams apart from the Men’s Fifths and Sixths are in action in tomorrow’s BUCS fixture list.  The Men’s Firsts travel to Aberdeen for the reverse League fixture against The Robert Gordon University First after last week’s goalless draw.  The Aberdeen institution has not been very liberal with the kick-off time and the 1.30 start will inevitably mean that some players will be unable to join the travelling party.

All four other matches are in cup competitions:  remarkably, the Men’s Seconds also have a repetition of last week’s match, away to University of Strathclyde Second, and will try to follow up last week’s League win with a victory in the Scottish Conference Cup.  The winners of the tie will progress to the Quarter-finals to face the winner of a match between University of Strathclyde First and University of Stirling Third.

The other three sides are at home.  The Women’s Firsts, after their 5 – 4 defeat last week away to The Robert Gordon University First, will entertain Queen Margaret University First in the Scottish Conference Cup, with the winning side through to the Quarter-finals and an away tie, but a local one – either Edinburgh Napier University First or University of Edinburgh Third.

The Men’s Thirds and Fourths both play in the Scottish Conference Plate:  the Thirds at 2.45 against University of Abertay Dundee Third (winners at home to Edinburgh Napier University Second or University of Aberdeen Fifth in the Quarter-finals); the Fourths at 4.45 against Queen Margaret University First (winners at home to University of Stirling Fifth or University of Strathclyde Fourth in the Quarter-finals).

We wish the best of fortune to all Watt sides in their matches.
