Under-20s win through in close contest

Heriot-Watt’s Under-20 side kept up its position in Conference A of the Lowlands Development League last evening (Friday 30th November) with a 1 – 0 win over Camelon Juniors at Little Kerse.

The Camelon side was much improved from the line-up which played at Riccarton in late October and on a bitterly cold night in Grangemouth the Watt was made to fight all the way for the three points.  A goal from Euan Scott just before half-time was enough in the end, although it needed a late save from Kostka Real de Asua to keep a clean sheet and preserve the points.

No First Team fixture today, but the Reserves kept up the good work in Lothian West Division with a handsome 5 – 1 win over Clermiston Vale, keeping the Watt side in sixth place in the table, with two games or more in hand over four of the teams above them.

A reminder:  with no fixture next Saturday either, Heriot-Watt’s next game is on Monday evening at Riccarton against Crossgates Primrose.  If the Watt needed confirmation of the difficulty of this match, it came today when Primrose defeated Dunipace by five goals to one in a Conference B fixture.  The match kicks off at 6.45 on Monday at the John Brydson Arena and admission is only £3.
