Tough day for Watt sides in BUCS competitions

All seven Heriot-Watt sides were in action in BUCS games this week, but the only one to avoid defeat was the Men’s Thirds.  Despite having to send in a rather experimental side against University of Edinburgh Fifth, who had designs on the Division 5B title, the Watt lads turned the game around with goals by Ali Naysmith and Sebastian Ferman and only failed to grab all three points due to one of those late giveaway goals which happen from time to time.

The Men’s Firsts put up a valiant display against University of Glasgow First, but an early goal enabled the visitors to celebrate winning the League as the Watt once again couldn’t find the net.

Over the rest of the proceedings, we would prefer to draw a discreet veil.  There were four-goal margins in defeats for the Men’s Seconds, Men’s Fourths and Women’s Firsts and the Men’s Fifths and Sixths lost by even more.

Reports on the Men’s Firsts’ and Thirds’ games appear on the ‘Student Competitions’ tab.
