Stirling battle to the end, but Watt win through to give good start to second half of season

Yesterday’s East of Scotland League game at Riccarton brought three more points to Heriot-Watt, but after establishing a comfortable-looking three-goal cushion by half-way through the second half through a strike by Jackson Barker and a double from Cammy Ross, Watt conceded twice inside five minutes and was made to endure an uncomfortable last quarter of an hour before Chris Donnelly made the result safe with a goal deep into stoppage time.

The Watt’s LEAFA side had preceded the senior squad in a 1 o’clock kick-off against Waverley Athletic on the Riccarton synthetic. The visitors stormed into a three-goal half-time lead, but the Watt team made a game of it in the second half before eventually going down 5 – 3.
